VJ NADADA (Jim C.) was an instrumental player in the East Village Art Scene of the 1980s. His Nada Gallery was integral to the art movement centered around Rivington Street, better known in some circles as the “Rivington School”. He basically invented VJing at one of the city’s first regular video gigs, Danceteria! Today he is showing a new generation his old tricks actively participating with FEVA, teaching kids near his home in Woodstock, and publishing “When Out was In”, a detailed account of the rise and fall of the East Village.

ART JONES is practically the Johnny Appleseed of video art, planting seeds at the Studio Museum of Harlem, School of Art Institute of Chicago, and others as professor, artist, and lecturer. He know what he’s talking about. His old skool cred is as a member of media activists Not Channel Zero and working with social commentators Public Enemy.

EyeWash regular MIIXXY, takes a break busy schedule organizing the Sincine 2005 festival (set to debut in April) to show us some new skool styles and hopefully some new toys. Love the gear girlz…

MissSynthesis hails from the NYU ITP skool, researching new interfaces for musical expression and creating a documentary on electronic musicians. Be sure to catch her alter-ego Evan Raskob at the Compact-Impact show April 1st.
