New York, NY — EyeWash, the live-mix video series, will feature the release of “THE VJ BOOK” by Paul Spinrad at live-mix video performances by contributing video artists on Wednesday, October 19th at Vapor, 143 Madison at 32nd street. To get to Vapor take the 6 train to 33rd street.

Paul Spinrad’s THE VJ BOOK: Inspirations and Parctical Advice for Live Visuals Performance includes how-to, history and culture, legal issues, craft advice, future technology, plus interviews with: Benton_C Bainbridge, Craig Baldwin, Mark Coniglio, Bill Cottman, Ivan Dryer, Kathleen Forde, Stefan Gosiewski, Yusei Horiuchi, John Humphries, Peter Mettler, Norman Perryman, Jay Smith, Olivier Sorrentino, George Stadnik, Melissa “Miixxy” Ulto, Henry Warwick and many more. The book also includes a DVD with easy-to-use VJ software, mixable video clips, live performance footage, excerpts from the 2005 documentary film “VIDEO OUT”, and historical material.

The evening will feature performances in live mix video by:
Peter Kirn performing live mix video on all KORG hardware, featuring the KAOS PAD ENTRANCER and the CROSS-FOUR video mixer.

Jay Smith with Livid Instruments hardware/software setup featuring the new TACTIC 2 hardware video controller for the Livid Union software platform.

VJ Miixxy New York VJ and digital video goddess; contributer to THE VJ BOOK and too many projects to mention.
