about the artists:
VJ Eniac journeys from the West Coast transporting his XYNTH, his 3D visual synthesizer. Soon to be release in a High Definition, this VJ software/hardware system is designed and built by Eniac, aka Marc McCall. Eniac is a veteran of EyeWash from the first season back in 2003 and days at Remote Lounge and we are looking forward to his visual excursions at Monkeytown.
Jay Smith and Tony Lanutti of Ocular Noise Machine traverse the Hudson for another installment of synergistic audiovisual. Jay is founder of Livid Instruments, creator of the Viditar, Tactic and Union software performs with his hybrid instruments. Check out his new VJ soft CELL, perfect for the entry level VJ. Tony has been a leading member of the band Sinch since 1994, and and independent electronic music creation under the guise of Bluskreen since 1999.
Patricio Proverbiofrom Pank TV voyages all the way from Berlin to present his DNA project. In it DNA (mRNA and Proteins) from different Genes are translated into MIDI to generate audio and control the image variables in video.
R. Luke DuBois navigates his way as a composer, performer, video artist, and programmer living in New York City. Fresh from last weekend’s vBrooklyn Video Festival where he was a featured artist, Luke is a co-author of Jitter, a software suite developed by Cycling’74 for real-time manipulation of matrix data. His music (with or without his band, the Freight Elevator Quartet), is available on Caipirinha/Sire, Cycling’74, and Cantaloupe music, and his artwork is represented by bitforms gallery in New York City. He has collaborated on interactive performance, installation, and music production work with many artists and organizations including Toni Dove, Matthew Ritchie, Todd Reynolds, Michael Joaquin Grey, Elliott Sharp, Michael Gordon, Bang on a Can, Engine27, Harvestworks, and LEMUR, and is the director of the Princeton Laptop Orchestra for its 2007 season.
EyeWash is an event where VJs and Video artists perform live-mix video, present audio visual performances in collaboration with Audio artists, workshop performance involving video and technology. EyeWash is also supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
