Since its inception in 2003, FMT has established EyeWash as one of New York City’s most consistent, innovative, and supportive events of live-mix video performance.

The series has been funded in part by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts and is currently funded in part by a grant from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

Through EyeWash, FMT has presented the work of over 150 live-mix video artists and their collaborators whose disciplines range from video, filmmaking, music composition, graphic design, computer programming, choreography, painting, and spoken word. EyeWash is open to international and local artists, creates opportunities for cross-cultural connections between artists, and fosters artistic diversity to New York City audiences and to the live-mix video community.
