About the artists:

Seej aka Chris Jordan, projects improvised light and pattern compositions that explore the juncture between media and the mind. Every performance is a one-of-a-kind experience. Seej also organizes the t-minus timelapse film festival. A call for this year is already posted on the t-minus website and he is accepting submissions.

skfl + back from japan hail from the braintrust in Troy. This upstate New York town has given us Grid, VDMX, lmnopf, and the infamous Johnny Dekam. New to EyeWash, this A/V duo has this to say of thier work: “pixels will melt, records will rotate – a friday night box of sixty-four for you and yours.”

syn_crow swoops in for another performance. His clean-cut up style is a refreshing mixture of motion grafix and 3D animation with a beat driven visual sense of a video ronin.

Art Jones and Macaque will be presenting “Shards & Rays” an experimental sound and video collage piece woven from samples, sounds, and images not found in nature contrasted with man made urban natural around us. Out from dull bass drones we pull out bright beats and melodies, like the sun peeking through the cracks in the skyline, pulling lightness out of density. Art Jones is an image/sound manipulator working with film, digital video and hybrid media. His films/videos, CD-ROMs, live audio/video mixes, and installations often concern the inter-relationships between popular music, visual culture, history and power. As a VJ he has performed with a variety of musicians and artists, including Soundlab, DJ Spooky That Subliminal Kid, DJ T-Ina, Amiri Baraka, Femmes with Fatal Breaks and Alec Empire and Phillip Virus. He has recently completed a trilogy of music videos and a CD-ROM, and continues to perform at various locations in Chicago and New York. He is from the Bronx, New York, and lives and works in New York. Macaque is Chris Hart (programming and beats) and Evers (vocals and melodies). Macaque’s sound is a unique blend of pop sensibilities, noise, textures and the histories and mysteries of urban music. Sweet melodies wind over deep bass and stylish beat structures. They recently played at Cakeshop in New York and will be playing in Chicago in the early fall.

EyeWash is an event where VJs and Video artists perform live-mix video, present audio visual performances in collaboration with Audio artists, workshop performance involving video and technology.
