FMT 2006 Wrap Up

With all the exciting things happening at Forward Motion Theater this year, we couldn’t do it without you! Thanks to your generous support, we have had a busy year producing and performing in a wide variety of projects.
Some of our top events for 2006 include:
• EyeWash showcased over 50 live-mix video, audio, and movement artists working in collaboration at Monkeytown performance space in Williamsburg
• The MOMA Family Festival featured 8 EyeWash artists directly interacting with kids
• A 34-city national tour of Holly’s interactive bluescreen video station
• Eric performed SPAZ as a part of the Sharing the Legacy Project with the Hunter College Dance Department to celebrate masterworks of American modern dance
• Other performance highlights this year: The Inside Out Gala for Inside Designs, Calgary, Canada; a performance at the Spiegeltent as part of “Darmstadt: Classics of the Avant Garde?; a special EyeWash at the Hudson Opera House, where we were noted in The New York Times Travel Section for our “cutting edge art?; and a gig with James Brown during Fashion Week for Diesel
• Holly is giving lecture/demonstration for fifth-graders as part of the ERDA Schools Speaker Series, which connects professionals from different industries with four Queens public elementary schools that encompass the majority of students living in public housing in New York City
• We sponsored 18 artists showcased by vBrooklyn – a video festival about Brooklyn as a place and video as an artform
We’d love to be able to continue mounting EyeWash events, which have become a cornerstone of the New York live-mix video community. Projects planned for 2007 include the EyeWash 3 DVD, FMT Studio Sessions with subsequent podcasts, and our EyeWash Spring Season.
We need your support. Please support by making a tax-deductible contribution made payable to Forward Motion Theater, Inc. In any of the following ways:
