Forward Motion Theater presents RE:Vision, a series where media and digital art are integral to the performing arts. The evening features independent works by artists incorporating live-mix video, dance, puppetry, spoken word, and music.

E V – 23rd St/Ely (first stop in Queens) Exit the station on 45 Rd and walk towards the elevated train tracks. At the corner of 23 St, turn North and walk 1 block.
N W R – Queensboro Plaza Exit the station on Queens Plaza South. Walk west towards Manhattan (downhill) to 23 St, turn left and follow the elevated train tracks, 2.5 blocks.
7 G – 45th Rd/Courthouse Square Exit the station on 23 St. Follow the elevated train tracks north along 23rd St, 2 blocks.

Kim Gibilisco Dances communicates the intimate and often untold stories of the soul. Feature performances include Merce Cunningham Studio, Frederic Lowe Theatre, Downtown Arts Festival, DUMBO Arts Festival, Nikolais Legacy Conference at Hunter College, Maryland Choreographer’s Showcase, Dance Place in Washington, and Joyce SoHo. Kim Gibilico danced professionally with Murray Louis and Nikolais Dance. The New York Times has dubbed Kim “a firecracker of a dancer.” The Village Voice noted that Kim is “Louis’ most accomplished dancer.”

The contortion and aerial work of Jonathan Nosan has been featured in print ads, fashion spreads, trade shows, film, television and even radio. His training in Japan, London, and San Francisco and ten years of international performance experience provides Jonathan with the ability to transform his art into a variety of costuming, choreographic and musical styles such as “cirque”, corporate, club/disco. He is one of the founding partners of Acroback.

The Xaelon Manifesto is the work of Damon L. White, a multidisciplinary Bronx artist blending singing/songwriting, dance, poetry, and theater. He believes “do one thing each day that scares you,” (Baz Lurhman). Damon L. White received his B.F.A. in dance from the California Institute of the Arts and his graduate degree in experimental performance at San Francisco’s Institute/New College. Videography, music production and writing muses his creativity. In addition, he also works as a production manager and lights-sound technician who prefers the title, Renaissance Man/Artisan – “Ich bin Kunst.”

(+1-1) is the brainchild of director/choreographer James Roy Graber, a classically trained dancer and interdisciplinary theater artist. Active participant in EyeWash series, poetry slams, and collaborator with other artists, he has toured internationally with Hartford Ballet and American Repertory Ballet. His work has been shown at Broome Corner Studio, Henry Street Settlement, P.S.122, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, National Puppetry Festival in Atlanta. James performs for New York City’s Metropolitan Opera Ballet.

Blind is dancer and choreographer Eric Dunlap. Based in New York City, Eric toured internationally as a principal dancer with Alwin Nikolais / Murray Louis Dance. He has worked with various companies such as Peter Pucci Plus Dancers, Rebecca Sten/Perks Dance Music Theater, Sarah Skaggs Dancer/Higher Ground Projects, Pilobolus, and Pink Inc., appeared on NBC’s Today Show and is currently a member of the New York City Metropolitan Opera Ballet. Eric graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts and is a black belt in Aikido.

Active Phaze is Max N. Semenov, an international electronic musician and DJ. He creates original scores and remixes using turntables, software and hardware. Styles range from retro to neo and released on several indie European lables such as Gargan Records, Altai Records, and A/V label Club Chroma. Wetcircuit is Holly Daggers, a video artist and live-mix VJ. Her interactive installations have been presented at the MoMA and Chelsea Art Museum, and she’s performed concert visuals for Moby and toured with diverse music acts ranging from Busta Rhymes to Fischer-Spooner to Hillary Duff. Upcoming projects include Muffinhead’s art-performance bash BANZAI!!!! (Sat, May 29), and 3D visuals for the all female hip hop crew Decadancetheatre at Joyce Soho (July 15-18).

The mission of Forward Motion Theater is to explore the combination of movement and technology through live performance and digital media. Current projects include both live theater and new performance venues through video and the web. Forward Motion Theater was incorporated as a non-profit arts organization in 2001 and has achieved 501(c)3 status. Forward Motion Theater is dedicated to exploring forms of communication that resonate regardless of social or cultural heritage, and believes this approach will open the door to a future full of diversity and understanding.
