New York, NY — FORWARD MOTION THEATER is pleased to announce its participation in the Seventh Annual MoMA Family Festival on Saturday, January 28th from 6:30 to 9:30 at the Museum of Modern Art, 11 West 53 Street, New York, NY.
FORWARD MOTION THEATER will feature its DANCING ON-AIR interactive video station for the delight of children and their parents. DANCING ON-AIR uses the latest in live-mix video talent and bluescreen technology, turning guests into video stars! Participants dance, vamp, and show off for the camera while FMT’s internationally known VJs sample, scratch, and loop them over dynamic animated backgrounds. Kids will see themselves projected on inflatable sculptures designed for the event by Anakin Koenig of AKAirways.
Featured DJs and Media Artists from FMT’s EyeWash live-mix video series will be on hand with interactive installations and mixed content. Video artists include VJ Moto, Chika Iijima, Ilan Katin, and Marlon Barrios-Solano. DJs are DJ Duane Reade and DJ ActivePhaze.
Families with children ages four and up will be delighted by the array of activities in store while the Museum is closed to the general public. Families will be greeted by live entertainment to capture the imagination. Get hands-on with art-making workshops that kids and grandkids can really dig into, and explore the Museum’s galleries top to bottom. Museum educators will lead interactive talks to get young ones thinking. And, of course, no party is complete without refreshments everyone will enjoy.
Advance registration is recommended. Registration begins January 2, 2006. Free for MoMA Family Members and Contributing Members. $10 per person for Individual and Dual Members. To register, e-mail members_programs@moma.org…, visit the lobby Member Services desk during regular Museum hours, or return a completed registration form. Registration forms are available for download in PDF format (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).
