The vBrooklyn video-festival documents Brooklyn’s evolving cityscape through contemporary video-art. 20 of NYC’s underground and established artists will present live video-performances and screenings.
Brooklyn is transforming as development hits critical mass. vBrooklyn asked video-artists to tape the borough’s skyline and architecture before they permanently change, helping to build a dynamic historic record through personal interpretation and literal documentation.
Some of NYC’s most innovative and entertaining video-artists will manipulate video in real-time or screen pieces, ranging from ambient, abstract studies to dynamic, figurative examinations. Subjects include the Gowanus Canal, the downfall of Greenpoint buildings, Brooklyn’s waterfront, Floyd Bennett Field, landmark bridges, and other elements defining Brooklyn as a place.
